A neutral two no-trumps is:
- natural immediately opposite a minor relay, denying the ability to say anything more about the majors or to show a five-card minor
- natural and to play in a scramble
- a strong fit bid opposite a natural suit bid
- otherwise, a disturbing bid showing both minors (usually five-five).

Natural, with at most four spades, two hearts and four in either minor.

Agrees hearts, with enough values for at least the three-level. Continuations are considered under
fit auctions.

Five-five in the minors, at least 4 points (otherwise
1
first), and the auction is now disturbed. As we have shown both minors, we can stop in either at any level.

Because opener is limited and has already denied a major suit, minor-suited responder should preempt to the correct level immediately, so here
2NT can be bid with only four-four in the minors and quite weak.
