overcall is equivalent to a weak 2
. But if we hold a single-suited hand with hearts and opening values, leftie opens 1
and no other bid (such as double or 1NT) is suitable, we have to widen the range of 2
to also include opening strength hands with six hearts.
A stronger hand can double and then rebid with a shunt to hearts.
