has similar possibilities to that of its major cousins 3
and 3
. They are:
- if the bid is a raise or a jump, it is a fit bid
- if the bid cannot be natural, it is an impossible suit bid
- otherwise it is a forcing suit-setter.
As for three of a major, a suit-setter will show a (semi-) solid suit when used prematurely. See neutral high bids for the meaning of the impossible suit bid above 3NT.
