If they compete without disturbing the auction (i.e. they bid below 1NT), both the shape and style of neutral Chilli auctions are often retained. The main mission continues to be to find our best spot. Of course, their bids will influence our evaluations and judgement, but all of our available bids keep their usual meanings.
In this section we consider:
- what happens when we open and then they interfere
- actions after they open at a low-level and we want to compete
- our takeout double of one of a major
- doubling one of a minor with a strong hand
- the awkwardness of bidding hearts over spades
NEXT: we open, they compete
